O'Brien steeled for Saturday

Joey O'Brien is hoping Saturday's showdown with big-spending Leicester City will see the Hammers continue their tremendous high-flying form.

The npower Championship fixture at Upton Park will once again be among the biggest in the country and a bumper Boleyn crowd is expected for the 3pm kick-off at the end of half-term week.

Fans have flocked to get tickets starting from just £32 on the back of a rip-roaring 4-0 home win against in-form Blackpool in the last Upton Park fixture a fortnight ago. Leicester have splashed the cash this season and have a host of big names to go up against Kevin Nolan and Co.

Another home win combined with a defeat for Southampton against Middlesbrough would see Big Sam's men go top of the table for the first time. O'Brien, for one, cannot wait, especially after Monday's spirited success at Brighton & Hove Albion continued his comeback after a recent hamstring lay-off.

"It was vital to bounce back [against Brighton]," O'Brien told West Ham TV. "I think we are three points behind Southampton now after they dropped points on Saturday and I think that everybody is going to drop points in this league.

"That is the way it is working out, so hopefully we can now go on a nice run. After a disappointing match against Southampton we have bounced back really well and hopefully we can beat Leicester this weekend."
