Brown called by Shots

West Ham United youngster Jordan Brown has joined League Two challengers Aldershot Town on a month-long loan.

The 19-year-old is highly rated at the Boleyn Ground and joined the first-team squad at their pre-season training camp in Switzerland in July. There, Brown appeared in the pre-season matches against FC Basel and BSC Young Boys, while he also featured against FC Copenhagen, Wycombe Wanderers and Dagenham & Redbridge.

Brown, who joined the Hammers as a schoolboy, graduated from the Academy in summer 2010, having been appointed as youth-team captain during the second year of his scholarship.

After making seven Barclays Premier Reserve League appearances in 2010/11, a thigh injury hindered Brown's progress in early 2011, but he returned in a post-season friendly at Tottenham Hotspur in May and starred in the development squad's 3-1 win over Brentford earlier this week.

Brown could make his debut for West Ham's Carling Cup conquerors in The Shots' League Two home fixture against Cheltenham Town on Saturday afternoon.

Having overcome Carlisle United in the Carling Cup second round on Tuesday evening, Dean Holdsworth's side will also host Rochdale in the third round on Wednesday 21 September.

Brown joins Ahmed Abdulla (Swindon Town), Pablo Barrera (Real Zaragoza), Jordan Spence (Bristol City), Cristian Montano (Notts County) and Olly Lee (Dagenham & Redbridge) in leaving the Boleyn Ground on a temporary basis this summer.
