Masters time again

West Ham United will bid to go one better than last year when they take part in the 2010 Selco London Masters on Saturday 24 July.

In 2009, the Hammers were beaten in the final of the indoor competition at Wembley Arena, losing out on penalties to Queen's Park Rangers with a team featuring three former QPR players in Rufus Brevett, Keith Rowland and Trevor Sinclair.

The West Ham side had cruised past Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal to get to the showpiece. However, once there, QPR won 3-2 on spot-kicks after a 1-1 draw in normal time to mean West Ham relinquished their hold on the trophy they had won the year before.

Other former claret and blue favourites taking part last year inclouded Kenny Brown, Ian Pearce, Michael Hughes and Kevin Horlock. This year's squad has yet to be finalised but they will want as much support from Hammers fans as possible. The winners of the London Masters will go through to September's Grand Final, featuring the winning sides from regional heats across the country.
