Reserves ready for Chelsea

West Ham United reserves will look to return to winning ways when they take on Chelsea at Bishop's Stortford on Wednesday evening.

Alex Dyer's team have not tasted victory since beating Stoke City 5-2 at the same venue on 24 November last year. Since then, the Hammers second-string have lost twice and drawn once in three Barclays Premier Reserve League South fixtures.

That victory over Stoke was inspired by Kieron Dyer, who scored twice, and the England midfielder is among a number of first-team squad members who could feature at Woodside Park.

Having enjoyed a 15-minute run out as a substitute in the 3-0 Barclays Premier League defeat at Manchester United on Tuesday - his first appearance since 15 December - the 31-year-old could be involved from the start at Woodside Park.

A host of other players with first-team experience this season may also feature, with the likes of Peter Kurucz, Fabio Daprela, Manuel da Costa, captain Bondz 'Gala and Junior Stanislas all potentially available.

West Ham go into Wednesday's match seventh in the nine-team standings, but can close the gap on fourth-placed Chelsea to just a point with a win.

The reverse fixture ended in a 4-1 win for Chelsea at Brentford's Griffin Park back on 19 October. Former Blues youngster Frank Nouble scored the Hammers' consolation goal.

Kick-off at Woodside Park is 7pm, with tickets available on the night. Admission is £3 for adults and £1 for children, with season ticket holders admitted free of charge.
