West Ham United reserves travel to the south coast to face Portsmouth on Tuesday evening looking to build on a promising start.
Manager Alex Dyer's side have started the season in impressive style and sit third in the early standings of the Barclays Premier Reserves League south table after a win, draw and defeat. Their hosts on Tuesday evening are a point and three places behind with a win and two defeats. He said: "It should be a good game. Portsmouth should have some first-teamers on view and we are expecting a competitive match. It is up to the youngsters to show what they can do again."
Dyer could call on several members of the first-team squad that travelled to the north-west for Monday's Barclays Premier League match with Manchester City. The likes of Peter Kurucz, captain Bondz 'Gala, Fabio Daprela, Josh Payne and Frank Nouble were all unused against the Citizens so may well be handed some valuable match time.
As usual, whufc.com will have live text updates from the Westleigh Park home of Havant and Waterlooville, where kick-off is at 7pm.
