Principal partners SBOBET have donated a new set of team strips to a supporters' team made up entirely of season-ticket holders who were in desperate need after playing the last five seasons in an old claret and blue kit.
West Ham United IFC assistant manager Vincent White, from Harlow in Essex, approached SBOBET Executive Director Bill Mummery after reading about the help SBOBET had given the club in the signing of Alessandro Diamanti and was delighted to get a response within 24 hours.
After hearing about their plight and the excellent representation they gave the club during a supporters' game with Millwall last Saturday, SBOBET quickly offered them 24 West Ham United home shirts and four balls.
Mummery said: "In light of the events of last Tuesday I thought that any group of supporters that were still planning to play their game in the right spirit must be worthy of a little bit of support and for me it was an absolute pleasure to offer them some kit."
White, 30, said: "We're absolutely delighted. It's a wonderful gesture and we're now going to look the part as well playing the part.
"The story on the official website about the signing of Diamanti and [West Ham United CEO] Scott Duxbury personally thanking Bill was the carrot that I needed. I contacted SBOBET three days ago and here we are today with the new kit that we have been after."
