The first month of the 2009/10 season has passed and you can now vote for your August player of the month.
After the impressive 2-0 opening day win at Wolves, where Robert Green was at his inspired best, West Ham United put on an exciting show in the derby defeat by Tottenham Hotspur, with Carlton Cole's strike a particular highlight. A Junior Stanislas double helped Gianfranco Zola's side to a 3-1 win over Millwall in the Carling Cup before a dogged defensive display on Saturday helped the Hammers to a goalless draw at Ewood Park.
As usual, whufc.com will be running a player of the month poll at the end of each month, giving you the chance to recognise and reward the player you think has impressed the most. Last season Scott Parker collected the Hammers of the Year award but he also reigned supreme in the player of the month polls, collecting the award an unprecedented three times in a row for his performances throughout January, February and March.
