Guille Franco is hoping to play a part against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon after getting his first taste of action for West Ham United.
The Mexico striker got a brief run-out last week at Stoke City and will be pushing hard to be involved this weekend. He faces stiff competition from the likes of Zavon Hines and Alessandro Diamanti to figure alongside Carlton Cole but he said he will be ready if called upon.
"Everybody has been working hard and is determined to turn things around. We are not in a good moment but I can see plenty of belief in the squad," he said.
"I am ready to play and want to show what I can do for West Ham. I am really enjoying being at the club and I am happy to be here. We just need to get a win. We know Arsenal are a strong team and they have lots of good players but so do we."
If selected, Franco could possibly come up against his international strike partner Carlos Vela, who has made waves at the Emirates in the past year. He is also well aware of the talent in the Gunners' side from his time with Spanish giants Villarreal. In fact he played in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals against Arsenal last April.
"I have played against them in the Champions League and I know what to expect. We have the players to compete with them and the only talking we can really do to show that is on the pitch."
