West Ham United goalkeeper Deniz Mehmet completed a full 80 minutes as Turkey got their UEFA European Under-17 Championship Elite qualifying campaign underway with a 2-2 draw against Wales.
The 16-year-old, who has impressed as a member of Tony Carr's Academy this season, was named in the Turkey side for the Group Six match in Adana.
Swindon Town's Billy Bodin gave Wales a 31st-minute lead before Trabzonspor's Hassan Ahmet Sari drew Turkey level three minutes later. Leicester City midfielder Elliott Chamberlain put the Welsh back in front on 47 minutes before Chelsea starlet Gokhan Tore completed the scoring in the 51st-minute.
Turkey will complete their Elite round fixtures with further games against Romania on Saturday and Finland next Monday. Romania beat Finland 2-1 in Thursday's other fixture.
Should Turkey top their group, Ercan Abdullah's team will qualify for this summer's finals, which will be held in Germany in May.
