New fixtures announced

West Ham United will kick-off the 2009/10 Barclays Premier League season with a trip to newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Gianfranco Zola's side will travel to Molineux on Saturday 15 August before their first home game of the campaign against local rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday 22 August. The traditional Boxing Day fixture will see Portsmouth visit the Boleyn Ground, in a reverse of last season's 4-1 away win on 26 December. The Hammers will wrap the season up with a home game against Manchester City on Sunday 9 May.

West Ham United had been scheduled to play host to Aston Villa three days after the Wolves match, on Tuesday 18 August, but that game will be called off due to Villa's UEFA Europa League commitments.
