Craig Bellamy has spoken of his delight at being voted player of the month for December by users of whufc.com.
The West Ham United striker spoke just before the squad departed for Saturday's away game at Newcastle United as they look to make it six games unbeaten on the road and also secure four successive wins in all competitions. Bellamy's contribution in the last month included a priceless goal in the 1-1 draw at Chelsea on 14 December and two goals in the 4-1 success away at Portsmouth on Boxing Day.
Despite the personal accolade, Bellamy was quick to acknowledge his team-mates. He said: "I am delighted to be voted as player of the month by our fans - but it has been a good month for all of us. We have all really come on well as a team. We have a lot of players who can create and score goals and it has been a decent month for us. Hopefully now, we can go on and kick on from here."
