West Ham United will learn their opponents for the 2009/10 Carling Cup third round on Saturday lunchtime with the match scheduled to be played the week beginning Monday 21 September.
Gianfranco Zola's team won through to this stage after a 3-1 victory against Millwall last Tuesday with two goals from Junior Stanislas and a decisive third from Zavon Hines. Last season, in Zola's second match in charge, the Hammers were knocked out at this stage after a 1-0 defeat by Watford.
The club have twice reached the League Cup final but have never triumphed, losing in 1966 and 1981 to West Bromwich Albion and Liverpool respectively. This year's final will be staged at Wembley on Sunday 28 February 2010.
