All the odds for Watford

West Ham United saw off Macclesfield Town after extra time in the last round of the Carling Cup. Two more consecutive home wins over Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United in the Barclays Premier League followed, leaving the Hammers bubbling going into the next against Watford.

On Tuesday evening Gianfranco Zola's side travel to Vicarage Road for a tough-looking Carling Cup third-round tie. JAXX make the Hammers 1/1 (or Evens) to beat the Hornets and 25/1 to lift the trophy. The hosts are on offer at 47/20, while the draw is available at 23/10.

West Ham United are unbeaten at home, but on their travels it is a different story, having lost at Manchester City and West Bromwich Albion. Watford have been drawn at home for the third successive round, having disposed of Bristol Rovers 1-0 in the first round and needing extra time to see off Darlington 2-1 in the second round.

These sides have met four times in the Premier League since 1999 and three of the four games produced fewer than three goals in total. It has been a different matter in the Championship, where three of the four games have produced three goals or more. It is 17/20 that there will be more than 2.5 goals scored in total this time, and 3/4 that there will be fewer than 2.5 goals scored.

West Ham United's last visit to Vicarage Road was on 22 August 2006, when the match ended in a 1-1 draw. The odds on that result happening on Tuesday evening are 11/2. With Watford winning two of their four Championship games at home so far this season, perhaps there will be those who think the Hornets might sneak a victory. The odds are 9/1 for a 2-1 Watford win, while it's 13/2 for the Hammers to win 2-1 in 90 minutes.

There's also betting available on the half-time/full-time result. If you think that the visitors will do what they did on Saturday and be leading at the interval and go on to win after 90 minutes, you should back them at 11/5 with JAXX. It is 4/1 that Watford take the lead in the first half and hold on to it.

JAXX offer several other markets, including Handicap betting. If you fancy the Hammers to win by two clear goals or more, they are on offer at 13/5, while the draw on the handicap (i.e., a Watford victory by a single-goal margin) is available at 5/2. If you like to take the precaution of having two results running for you, have a look at the Double Chance market with your No1 online sports bookmaker.
