Scott Parker joined the rest of the England squad on Tuesday night in getting a first look at the Olympiastadion in Berlin where Fabio Capello's men will take on Germany in a glamour friendly.
The West Ham United midfielder has every chance of his fourth cap on Wednesday after his late call-up to a selection that has been shorn of Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and Theo Walcott. Matthew Upson is also in the party and could line up alongside John Terry at the heart of the defence for what would be his 12th international.
The match also offers both men the chance to stake their claim for a place in next spring's World Cup qualifiers, with the 2010 finals in South Africa the ultimate aim. Meanwhile, Jordan Spence was a late substitute for England Under-19s as they beat Germany 1-0 in a friendly in Colchester on Tuesday.
