Scott Parker has been rewarded for his fine form with an England call-up after Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard withdrew through injury.
The West Ham United midfielder was watched by Fabio Capello in Saturday's 0-0 draw at home to Portsmouth and joins club-mate Matthew Upson in the squad. Fulham's Jimmy Bullard has also been drafted into the travelling party for the trip to face Germany in Berlin on Wednesday night.
Parker has three caps already for his country and could become the first England player to earn four national-team appearances while with four different teams, having earned his previous call-ups while with Charlton Athletic, Chelsea and Newcastle United. The 28-year-old has played 12 times for West Ham United this season, having made 20 appearances last season in his first campaign at the Boleyn Ground.
