Details of the annual Boys of 86 football tournament, which offers you the chance to play against a team of club legends on the Boleyn Ground pitch have been announced.
Now in its seventh year, the event sees a team of former West Ham United players and their celebrity guests go head-to-head with members of the public. You can enter with your own sqaud or as an individual, when you will be assigned a team on the day.
If playing against the famous faces on the hallowed turf was not enough, you will also get to change in the Boleyn Ground dressing rooms where the first team prepare before every home match.
Players will be supplied with shirts, shorts and socks, which can be kept after the tournament has finished, but you will need to bring your own towels, shin pads and moulded boots. The maximum squad size is eleven, with seven players allowed on the pitch at any one time. Rolling substitutions can be made at any point during the game.
The tournament, on the 29 May 2009, begins at midday when the teams meet for light refreshments. Alvin Martin will run through the day's schedule before the first round of matches kick-off at 1pm. Every team that enters will be guaranteed at least one game against a West Ham United side.
After the grand final, teams will be able to take advantage of a free bar in the Castle Suite before the presentations, dinner, evening entertainment, a raffle and auction begin at 7.30pm.
The cost per squad is £3,000 plus VAT or £300 plus VAT for an individual player. Guests can watch the afternoon event free of charge, but the cost to attend the evening function is £65 plus VAT per person.
