James Tomkins and Freddie Sears have learned who they will face at the European Under-19 Championship between 14-26 July after the draw was held by UEFA.
England, who won through to the eight-team tournament on Saturday after topping their qualifying group in Belarus, have been drawn alongside hosts Czech Republic, Italy and Greece in Group B. The matches will all be placed in Liberec and could potentially see Tomkins and Sears up against their club-mate and Czech youth international goalkeeper Marek Stech.
Group A will be based in Prague and is made up of Germany, Spain, Hungary and Bulgaria. As well as Tomkins and Sears, the Young Lions could also be boosted by two other West Ham United players with Jordan Spence and Junior Stanislas also having been recognised at U19 level previously. Both just missed out on the Elite round qualifying stage but could yet be called up by manager Brian Eastick. whufc.com will have full coverage from the finals later this summer.
