James Tomkins and Freddie Sears' dreams of success at the European Under-19 Championship remain alive after a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Italy on Thursday night.
The West Ham United duo both played a full part with Tomkins again getting 90 minutes and Sears an 87-minute run-out before being replaced by Scott Sinclair. The result means England sit bottom of Group B at the finals in the Czech Republic and will have to beat Greece on Sunday to have any chance of going through to the semi-finals on Wednesday 23 July. Only the top two teams will progress.
