whufc.com pays tribute in pictures to Christian Dailly, who has left the club after seven years. Although much has changed at West Ham United since he arrived, the Scottish international's commitment to the cause never wavered....
"You're never quite sure what's around the corner and it can be the best team in the world or the worst on any occasion. I have to say things seem a lot more on an even keel these days, which is probably better for people's tickers! It's been great. It makes you a better player as well, particularly for me in terms of defending.
"You go away to play international games and it has felt so easy because you work so hard defending here. I love playing attacking sides like that and taking responsibility, having to defend on your own at times at the back and it's been good fun. It's a brilliant club. It's massive."

Christian meets Paolo Di Canio on his first day at the club
Although a new face, he was soon calling the shots
His all-action style was evident for all to see
Never afraid to speak his mind, Dailly was made captain
Having said he would play for the club in any division, he scores against Ipswich,
That goal helped the club to the 2004 play-off final although it ended in heartbreak
A year later, promotion was finally secured via the 2005 play-off success
A Scottish Cup winner already, Dailly figured in the 2006 FA Cup final
In 2007/08, he continued to show a great attitude in training
A loyal servant, Dailly will always be welcomed back at the Boleyn Ground
