West Ham United have allowed young forward Jack Jeffery to join Cambridge United on a month's loan.
The 18-year-old Gravesend-born striker has previously had a spell this campaign for Alan Devonshire at Hampton and Richmond, scoring two goals, and now joins up with another former Hammers player Jimmy Quinnn. Under Quinn, Cambridge are riding high in the Conference play-off positions, sitting in third place before Saturday's home game against Forest Green Rovers.
Jeffery, a regular for West Ham United at U18 level, has also had plenty of opportunities with the reserves - most recently in Wednesday's 2-0 win against Fulham. He will link up with former West Ham United Academy forward Lee Boylan, now 29, who made one appearance for the club as an 89th minute substitute in a 5-1 home defeat of Sheffield Wednesday back on 3 May 1997.
