West Ham United Under-18s are looking to build on their promising start to the season as they face a tricky trip up to Leeds United this weekend.
With Adam Street in fine form in goal, Tony Carr's youngsters secured a hard-fought 0-0 draw with Manchester United in their opening FA Academy Premier League game at Little Heath last week. They visit Leeds on Saturday hoping to make it four clean sheets in a row, stretching back to last season.
"We've had a good start to the season and hopefully we can take that form into Saturday's game at Leeds," Carr said. "We travel as an overnight for that one, which is unusual for the youth team as we only do that maybe once or twice a year. It's something new for them and something for their development."
The players took a brief break from their training schedule this week to have the team photo taken and Carr says it provided a few light-hearted moments. He said: "It is good banter and good fun. They're all a bit embarrassed about getting their kit on and posing for a team photo."
