Zavon Hines and Richard Wright had contrasting afternoons in the Championship on Saturday afternoon as the loanees' respective clubs fight to stay in the division.
Hines played the last five minutes off the bench as Coventry City lost 2-1 at home against high-flying Stoke City - with former United centre-back Elliott Ward scoring the consolation - while Wright played the full 90 minutes as Southampton earned a 1-1 draw at Charlton Athletic. Southampton are two points and two places above the drop zone, with Coventry one point worse off and with only Leicester City between them and the bottom three.
Also in the Championship, winger Kyel Reid was an unused substitute as Crystal Palace earned a 2-0 victory at home against Scunthorpe United, a success that took them into sixth spot and a potential play-off position. Elsewhere, Jack Jeffery figured for the final nine minutes as Cambridge United lost 2-1 at home to last-placed Stafford Rangers in the Conference. The surprise defeat was a major blow to their hopes of a play-off spot and ultimately a return to the Football League.
