West Ham United's summer excursion to Toronto to take on the MLS All-Stars on 24 July has particularly caught the imagination of two of the club's players.
Peru midfielder Nolberto Solano is aware of the progress being made to boost football's appeal in the United States and Canada. He said: "We know how big the Premier League is around the world. Everyone will be looking forward to it - especially where it is, everyone loves North America, and it will be fantastic. It will be a good pre-season experience for us. It is always exciting to play in international games."
Luis Boa Morte played in the 2005 MLS showpiece, as Fulham lost 4-1 in Columbus, Ohio. Recalling that match, the Portugal forward said: "It was not the best experience before because we got thrashed! It was a good game though. It was a good experience to play against different players, with different techniques. It is an exciting prospect to play against them again. People get excited over there to see a team coming from Europe to play against the MLS All-Stars."
