80min - The final Sunderland change. Ian Harte is on for Collins.

76min - GOAL. Solano makes an instant impact. The Peruvian latches on to Boa Morte's cross and fires in a shot that hits the post before rebounding back into the net off Gordon. The two changes by Alan Curbishley have paid instant dividends.

73min - A double substitution with debutant Solano replacing Noble and Luis Boa Morte coming on for Etherington.

70min - Jones goes close with another header. This time it flashes to Green's right but it had the England goalkeeper worried.

67min - Noble clears off the line from a Dickson Etuhu header. The play switches to the other end where both Cole and Etherington cannot connect with a ball bobbling around the edge of the six-yard box.

65min - Cole turns on Noble's low cross but cannot get any power behind the shot, which Gordon claims.

61min - Cole heads wide from Bowyer's cross. All three West Ham United substitutes are warming up.

60min - Bellamy breaks and finds Etherington who wins a corner. It comes to nothing and Jones heads clear.

58min - Leadbitter sees a fierce shot cannon off the post after a terrific save by Green. The young midfielder had pounced on a Jones flick-on.

55min - Halford pulls back Etherington and gets a yellow card for his troubles. From the resulting set-piece, Bellamy fires wide of the goal from a tight angle.

53min - GOAL. It is 1-1. Jones rises above Matthew Upson to head in the Sunderland equaliser from Leadbitter's corner.

46min - Sunderland have made two changes at half-time. Wallace and O'Donovan have been replaed by Anthony Stokes and Michael Chopra.

HALF-TIME

45min - We are playing three minutes of added time. Etherington is given the all-clear to continue but he looks a bit dazed.

44min - Sunderland are applying a bit of late pressure. Ross Wallace fires an effort at goal but a timely block sends it looping over for a corner. Meanwhile, Etherington requires a bit of treatment.

41min - A surging run forward sees McCartney travel fully 60 yards before sliding the ball through to Cole. He gets his shot away but it is deflected and is easily claimed by Gordon.

39min - The match has become a bit scrappy with neither side able to create much in the final third. The hosts are having the better of it though.

33min - Etherington wins a free-kick out on the left wing. Noble takes it and finds Bowyer unmarked at the back post but the midfielder sends his header soaring over the bar.

27min - Nolberto Solano makes his first appearance for a warm-up  as he runs towards the Bobby Moore Stand. The former Newcastle man - like Craig Bellamy and Lee Bowyer - would love to have an impact against today's opponents.

23min - Etherington runs at the Sunderland defence before trying his luck from just outside the area. His shot just fades to the right of goal.

22min - Anton Ferdinand and Henri Camara come out to warm-up. Both players are on the bench after recent knocks.

20min - A Mark Noble clearance goes straight to Liam Miller but his shot at Green is tame.

17min - Grant Leadbitter goes into the book for a late challenge on Bowyer.

15min - Cole is seeing a lot of the ball. Lee Bowyer finds him in a central position and he shoots low - only for Gordon to save. The ball switches to the other end and Jones has Green diving full stretch to keep out a lofted shot.

12min - Cole goes into the referee's notebook for a late challenge on Danny Collins.

9min - GOAL. 1-0 to West Ham United. Carlton Cole scores. The tall striker rises to head in a deflected deep cross from George McCartney.

7min - Neither side has yet forced an effort on goal, with Bellamy yet to get a real chance to run at the visitors.

1min - Kenwyne Jones goes close with a header from a Roy O'Donovan right-wing free-kick.

3.50pm - The Boleyn Ground is filling up. Sunderland have bought a strong away contingent and the home fans are out in force again for another sold-out fixture.
