There are still places left to be had on the West Ham United in the Community coaching courses being held later this month at six locations.
Between Monday 22 October and Friday 26 October, FA trained coaches will stage the courses for youngsters aged between six and 16. A spokesman said: "We aim to provide a safe and friendly environment for children of all abilities to enjoy football, with the emphasis on fun, enjoyment and participation. Each child will be put into a group according to their age and ability."
The courses will be held at venues in Basildon, Brentwood, Chadwell Heath Chelmsford, Chigwell and Dagenham but those interested should contact organisers to find out what is happening in your area on which day. In some cases, specialist goalkeeping coaching will also available.
Courses start at 9.30am and finish at 2.30pm, with the children focusing on learning new skills in the morning before games take place in the afternoon. For players that reach a suitable standard, there is a chance of being recommended to West Ham's Academy.
The West Ham in the Community scheme was set up in 1990 with a view to working in the surrounding boroughs. The community team work together through a wide range of sporting and social activities at various locations around London and the south east.
