Scottish international Christian Dailly has returned to West Ham United after a two-month loan at Southampton and goes straight into the reserve squad to play at Derby County on Monday night.
Dailly made eleven Championship appearances for Southampton, most recently helping them to a 1-0 home victory against Blackpool on Saturday. The versatile 33-year-old defender has been with West Ham United since January 2001. Speaking to the official Southampton website, manager George Burley said: "I can't speak highly enough of Christian. He is a model pro who can play so many different positions. He has been tremendous."
After a 1-0 home win against Tottenham Hotspur, a 1-1 draw at Fulham and a 2-2 home draw against Arsenal, Kevin Keen's side will leave the capital for the first time in nearly two months when they take on Derby. The match, to be played at Burton Albion FC, will also feature Scott Parker and Dean Ashton as they continue their recovery from knee injuries.
