West Ham United have agreed to let attacking midfielder Tony Stokes join Blue Square Premier side Stevenage Borough on a two-month loan.
The Academy product has been in good form of late, scoring a wonder goal for the reserves in a 2-2 draw against Arsenal on 6 November and then following up with a hat-trick in a practice match on Wednesday. Stokes has previously had loan spells with Rushden & Diamonds during the 2005/06 campaign, featuring in 18 games, and at Brighton and Hove Albion when he played seven league and cup matches at the start of last season
The 20-year-old, who has played once for the West Ham United first team in a League Cup match in September 2005, should make his debut for Stevenage in Monday's visit of Altrincham, which is live on Setanta Sports. Stevenage, under new manager Peter Taylor, have also signed defenders Zoltan Liptak and John White from Southend United and Colchester United on loan deals. Stevenage are sixth in the Conference table, one point and one place outside of the play-off positions.
