Christian Dailly has been drafted into the Scotland national squad for their friendly against Austria on Wednesday and Euro 2008 qualifier against the Faroe Islands a week later.
After several players withdrew through injury, the 33-year-old Hammers defender was called up by coach Alex McLeish and was due to travel from London today to meet up with his international colleagues.
Meanwhile, Dailly's Upton Park team-mate Danny Gabbidon
could be a doubt for Wales's Euro 2008 qualifier against the
Czech Republic next Saturday. The 27-year-old defender played in a
2-2 friendly draw against New Zealand on Saturday - his first taste
of action after four months out with a groin injury - and
understandably took time to adjust.
Welsh coach John Toshack said: "We hope Gabbidon will play
against the Czechs. Injury-wise there is no reaction. He was more
comfortable as the game went on and when we added the extra
defender he was protected a bit more.
"Usually he is quick and covers the ground well, but at the
moment he is not there yet. He's rusty and not really match
fit."
