West Ham United goalkeeper Robert Green is backing the Premier League Reading Stars campaign to encourage people to read more.
Representatives from every club in the Premiership chose their much loved books to recommend and Rob chose childhood favourite Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
"Reading is a great hobby," he said. "It has something for everyone and it can be taken at your own pace. It also creates an escape from life and encourages people to use their imaginations - young and old.
"Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a book that creates a wonderful imaginary place. And it's an experience that happens to a normal child so anyone can relate to it and imagine themselves in that scenario."
Rob also chose to recommend the book Dog by John Hegley because, he said: "It's a fun, humorous book which can be picked up time after time."
All clubs have adopted at least one library, who receive free copies of all the player recommended titles. All participants have the chance to meet an author, and take part in a series of football based literacy games throughout the initiative.
Sir Dave Richards, Chairman of the Premier League and the Football Foundation, said: "With Premier League Reading Stars, we hope to be able to use footballers' favourite book choices as a way of inspiring families to read together.
"It gives players the opportunity to act as positive role models and shows that by using the power of football we can successfully change people's attitudes to reading."
