Jonathan Spector was grateful for the chance to get back to action in last night's reserve game against Chelsea and believes the team benefited from battling out a 0-0 draw.
Having missed the Charlton game through suspension, Jonathan was on the bench for the Hammers' game against Tottenham and was pleased to get back on the pitch last night.
"I think we played well against Tottenham, we had a great first half especially and then they came back," he said. "It was disappointing for us, the way it ended.
"But it's good for the players who didn't get a game on Sunday to get a game for the reserves and keep up their fitness and match sharpness.
"I'm hoping to be in the set-up for every game but I don't make the decisions. All I can do is work hard here. It was good for me to get a game after having not played at the weekend."
And Jonathan was pleased with the Hammers performance against Chelsea. "We didn't give them too many chances," he said. "We created a few pretty good chances for ourselves as well, but I think we defended well as a team.
"Their movement off the ball was good as a team, especially
as a young side. I think we did really well defensively, we just
needed a little bit more going forward but overall it was a good
performance."
