Tony Gale believes that new signing Luis Boa Morte will be
a major asset to West Ham United.
The former Hammers defender has watched his other old club, Fulham, on several occasions this season and insists that Alan Curbishley has signed a top Premiership performer.
"It's a great signing," says Tony. "Luis is the type of passionate, aggressive player that we need at the moment, and will bring extra quality and pace to our attacking play.
"He can perform on the left, up front, on the right, or in midfield, and will score goals as well as create them. Sometimes he can walk a bit of a fine line in terms of discipline, but I don't think that is a bad thing right now - we need someone with a bit of a spark who can get things going.
"Fulham will be very upset at losing him, because he has been one of their key players in recent seasons. He was handed the captaincy by Chris Coleman, which gave him a bit more responsibility, and he responded to that positively.
"Luis has now been in the Premiership for almost 10 years, and it's that kind of experience we need now to get results in the bag. He will fit straight into the team, and I'm sure he will be a big help to some of the young lads who are having a difficult time at the moment.
"Alan Curbishley has signed a top Premiership performer, and I'm looking forward to seeing the impact he will have at Upton Park."
