West Ham United are offering supporters the chance to take
advantage of free coach travel to our Premiership away match at
Aston Villa on Saturday, February 3.
Chairman Eggert Magnusson has decided on the gesture following yesterday's 6-0 defeat at Reading. While our next away game is at Newcastle United on January 20, the larger allocation of tickets for our trip to Villa Park early next month will enable more supporters to take up the offer.
Mr Magnusson says: "I fully understand how disappointed and upset our supporters were by the unacceptable performance at Reading, and I can only apologise on behalf of the Club to those people who attended the match.
"However, I do not feel it is right to make a gesture only to those who travelled to the Madejski Stadium. As Alan Curbishley said after the game, we are all in this together, and every single West Ham United supporter is upset by what happened on Monday.
"We are offering free coach travel to Aston Villa simply as a gesture to all supporters who spend so much time and hard-earned money travelling around the country to follow the Club.
"I want all fans to know that their support is greatly appreciated, especially during the team's current situation, and it will be so important to us for the remainder of the season."
West Ham United have an allocation of almost 4,000 for our trip to Villa Park, with tickets going on sale to season ticket holders next week. Coaches will depart Upton Park at 10.30am on Saturday, February 3.
