Injury update brings good news

After a turbulent time in the treatment room, Head Physiotherapist Steve Allen finally has some good news for Hammers fans.

"There's light at the end of the tunnel now," he says. "But we need a bit of luck. In our last six games we've had eight players go off injured. Hopefully everyone's on their way back to full fitness now."

Steve detailed the progress of our new signings, as well as delivering some positive news on our longer-term absentees.

"Lucas Neill is progressing well following his ankle and knee injuries," said Steve. "Matty Upson is progressing okay and we're hopeful he'll return to full training this week.

"Dean Ashton is getting fitter and may return to full training soon. Danny Gabbidon is progressing well following his adductor rupture and we're hoping to see him return to full training in the next two to three weeks.

"James Collins and Lee Bowyer are both back in full training."
