In the fourth and final extract of this week's
exclusive interview with Eggert Magnusson, the West Ham United
chairman pays tribute to the unwavering support of the
fans.
"Since I came to West Ham United, I have been overwhelmed by the passion and loyalty of the fans," he said. "On the very first day I arrived I was greeted so warmly and immediately made to feel welcome at this great Club.
"Since then, that warmth has continued to inspire and amaze me. Despite the difficult situation we have been in, the fans have always given everything in their efforts to cheer the team on to victory.
"They have been rightly critical at times, but I realise how much the Club means to them and I know they are all desperate for us to succeed. They have been tremendous home and away - the support we take to other Premiership stadiums continues to amaze me.
"Again we will be taking a huge number of fans to tomorrow's game. The players and I were only too happy to offer the gesture of free coach travel, but I know our fans would have gone anyway. And they will be so important to us in what is going to be a massive game.
"As chairman of West Ham United I realise people would expect me to say this but I honestly believe we have the best supporters in the country and I will never take that support for granted."
