Victory at Upton Park means that the quadruple is still on
for Chelsea. And going into the final run-in, Alan Curbishley is
still hoping that West Ham United can pull off a four-midable feat
of their own as they now prepare to face Everton, Wigan Athletic,
Bolton Wanderers and Manchester United.
"We've got four games left and we've got to win three of them to get to 38 points and give ourselves a chance," insisted the Hammers boss following defeat against the title-chasing Blues. "The Everton and Bolton games are at home, while we've also got to go to Wigan before we play Manchester United in the last game of the season.
"Tonight, we asked the players to up the tempo and they did that as much as they could. In the end, I thought that 1-4 was a bit harsh but Chelsea came out on top in the vital moments and when you miss your chances, you pay the price against these top clubs.
"The fans have been critical at times this season - and rightly so - but whenever we've given them something to get behind they've been fantastic and they were tremendous tonight.
"Everton play here at Upton Park on Saturday and now we've got to the point where we've just get on with it out there on the pitch and try to give our supporters something to hold onto, once again. We fight on!"
