West Ham United coach Keith Peacock is certain the Hammers
can bounce back from Saturday's defeat at Bramall Lane in
tomorrow's impassioned London derby against Chelsea.
"One of the important things about being a good professional footballer is that you have to be resilient," he said. "You have to have that bouncebackability. When you're knocked down you have to come straight back and we have to do that. Winning games is very important at the moment, wins are everything.
"We seem to struggle against the teams down the bottom and around us and do better against the teams that are further up the league. That may be to our advantage, if we can keep that trend going and get points against Chelsea and Everton. It's not beyond our capabilities; that's for sure."
Keith admitted that it had initially been hard to pick the players up after the defeat to Sheffield United.
"We felt shattered after the game because we were hoping to get something. But we live to fight another day and if we can pick up something against Chelsea and then go on to the game against Everton, who knows? Teams are going to be nervous, there are going to be last-minute goals conceded all over the country. Things can still go our way.
"I think the atmosphere will be terrific. Our fans make the atmosphere. If we put in the performance that we're capable of doing then the lid will come right off the stadium.
"Chelsea are going for the title but they've had a tough semi-final and, hopefully, they'll felt the effect of that a little bit. That may work to our advantage. It's a one-off game and I'm sure all our players will be playing their hearts out."
But Keith is well aware that Chelsea have enough quality in their ranks to pose a stern test. "They have a terrific manager and a terrific set of players. They have all types of weapons coming from Ballack, from Lampard, from Drogba.
"Wherever you go they have great weaponry out there. But we've beaten Arsenal twice, we've beaten Man United. We can do it. It's what we do on the day. We've just got to play to the top of our ability and Chelsea can be beaten."
