Jonathan Spector is confident that West Ham United can
maintain their winning streak until the end of the season.
"I don't think there's any team we can't
beat," he said. "We've shown that, we've beaten
the league leaders. We've beaten Arsenal twice home and away,
so there's no reason why we can't beat any team in this
league.
"The run we're on and the confidence we have, I think we
can definitely finish off the season strongly. It's a big ask
to win every game but we'll take it one game at a time and hope
for the best."
The USA defender was introduced into the fast-paced game at the
Emirates at half-time and delivered an assured performance.
"It was difficult coming in to the game at half-time," he
admitted. "George was struggling; he was feeling under the
weather. I was called upon at half-time to come in and do a job for
the team.
"We were 1-0 up going into the half, which was nice little
cushion. But we knew that they were going to come out and put us
under a lot of pressure and we would be defending probably for most
of the half.
"We defended really well as a team from the strikers all the
way back to the defenders and when we did win it back we kept it
pretty well to keep the pressure off us and get ourselves back up
the pitch.
"At the same time Greeny had a fantastic game. He made some
top-class saves at some vital times for us. So we were pretty
confident with him behind us."
Looking ahead to the Hammers' game against Sheffield United on
Saturday, Jonathan said: "We've won three in a row now and
I think there's no reason to prepare any differently for
Saturday's game than we have for the last three, when we've
come out on top," he said.
"We're all looking forward to it and it's an
extremely important game. It may not be a must-win, but we're
looking to win every game between now and the end of the season so
hopefully we will."
