Tevez climbing up the Actim Index

Carlos Tevez's goal and overall performance in our 2-0 victory over Middlesbrough last weekend has seen the Argentine star climb 51 places in The Actim Index - the Official Player Ratings of the Barclays Premiership.

Carlos, who has climbed to 321st position overall, created the first goal after winning the ball on the right flank before unleashing a deflected cross which was turned in by Bobby Zamora after two minutes. He then scored the second just before half-time after a quick turn and shot inside the box.

Actim Stats reveal that Tevez, who recorded the fourth highest scoring performance of the week, has notched three goals in 19 appearances having been on the pitch for a total of 1,159 minutes. The 23-year-old has also recorded two assists, 20 shots on target, 20 shots off target, 18 tackles won, 178 completed passes, 25 dribbles, 21 crosses, one clearance and three interceptions.

Bobby Zamora is currently our highest-ranked player in the Actim Index in 98th position. He has scored nine goals and made six assists while contributing 18 shots on target, 18 shots off target, 24 tackles, 267 completed passes, six dribbles, 18 crosses, five clearances and 15 interceptions in 1,751 minutes of Premiership football.

The Actim Index is calculated using a unique mathematical formula that rates each player's contribution - be it goals, shots, passes, dribbles, tackles, crosses, saves, clearances, blocks, interceptions, time on the pitch or number of points gained by the team with marks deducted for red and yellow cards. Two additional calculations, which take account of player assists and goalkeeper's clean sheets, have been added for the new season to increase the amount of variables a player is now measured by.
