With the Hammers set to descend on the Emirates Stadium for
the first time on Saturday, Rob Green admitted anticipating a
lively encounter from the match against Arsenal.
"It'll be a tough game, going to the new ground," he said. "We'll be going into the unknown, really. It's going to be a great game and one that I fully expect us to get something from. They had a bad result at the weekend and they'll be looking to bounce back.
"But we've had two good results and I can't see any reason why we can't go there and get a decent result and go and win the game. Some people have put it down as a home banker but I think the mood the team are in and the determination that's here, we are going to give them a hell of a game. It's going to be a massive challenge for us but one that we're hoping to win."
Rob was satisfied with the solid defensive display and clean sheet kept in Saturday's 2-0 victory against Middlesbrough.
"It was a good win and a good performance from everyone," he said. "We did what we needed to do in the first half and hopefully we've learnt from the game against Spurs as to how to kill games off.
"It may not have made for the most entertaining game in the second half. But as a player and as fans, you'd rather see us close out a 2-0 win like that and not have too many scary moments, than get beaten in a 4-3 thriller, like against Spurs."
And after two successive wins, the Hammers keeper insisted there is plenty to be positive about.
"We've given ourselves a chance and we've got to keep taking our chances when they come," he said. "Each time we get three points we give ourselves another chance and more hope of survival.
"It's feasible that we'll catch Sheffield United up within the next few games. We're looking up. People gave us no chance a couple of weeks ago and now they're saying we've given ourselves a glimmer of hope. But, within the camp, we've always had hope and the belief that we can do it and that just grows stronger with each result we get."
