Mark Noble typified the Hammers' spirit with his dogged
display against Middlesbrough yesterday.
"I think I made more challenges in that game than I have all season," he said. "I'm feeling it now; my back's sore, my leg's sore. I've got cuts all over the place but that's what you need when you have to dig results out.
"We're in a tough position now but we're looking up. And I think all of the teams directly above us are looking over their shoulders at us."
The 19-year-old midfielder was pleased to be back in the action after a tough test at Ewood Park.
"I'm really happy," he said. "I just wanted to get back from the Blackburn game after being brought off at half-time, which was for the good of the team. I was pleased I was in the team and I think I proved to the manager that I should be there.
"I think first-half we played exceptionally well, we scored goals and put them under pressure and drove forward. In the second half, after what happened against Tottenham, we were a bit edgy, but you need that when you're down there. You need to grind out a result. We kept a clean sheet and the manager's happy."
With Arsenal away next on the Hammers' fixture list, Mark added: "I think it's a nice one for all of us. We're going to go there full of confidence on the back of two wins and hopefully we'll get a result. They had a tough game against Liverpool, which they lost 4-1. They're going to be a bit low but if we can go there and set our stall out early then hopefully we can get a point or three."
