Danny Gabbidon admits he felt back to his best during the
1-0 win over Arsenal on Sunday.
The Welsh international defender, who missed virtually all of the pre-season build-up in the summer with a groin injury, produced a masterful performance to thwart Thierry Henry and co at Upton Park, and is hoping that he can now continue the form that earned him the Hammer of the Year award last season.
"I was pleased with my performance," says Danny. "It's probably the best I've played this season and hopefully I can keep performing at that level now.
"It wasn't just down to me, though, everyone defended superbly. I can't defend on my own - George McCartney did fantastically well when he came on for Anton - and we worked hard all over the pitch.
"So credit to all of the lads, it hasn't gone too well for us of late, but we got a good result last week against Blackburn and it was fantastic to carry that on against Arsenal.
"Overall, it was a great performance and unbelievable to get the three points - I think most of us thought that we were going to have to settle for a point. We knew we'd have to raise our game in the second half and the goal just capped it off for us."
