Second charity auction raises £2300

The second of our two exclusive charity auctions, giving two lucky young supporters the chance to be a matchday mascot for the FA Cup fifth round replay against Bolton Wanderers at Upton Park next Wednesday, closed on Thursday afternoon with a fantastic winning bid of £2,300.

The auctions were held to raise money to help the young family of Ian Jackson, a long-serving and loyal member of staff at Upton Park, who tragically died in January at the age of 38, leaving a wife and three young children.

The winning bid again came from season ticket holder Mr Samir Saleh, who also won the first auction last week with a bid of £1,600. Mr Saleh's six-year-old daughter Reshma will now join her older brother Adam in leading out the Hammers against Bolton next week.

Mr Saleh, whose success in both auctions means that he has contributed £3,900,00 to our fund, said: "I'm over the moon that my two children will both enjoy the experience of a lifetime at Upton Park next week, and delighted to be able to donate some money that will hopefully go some way to helping the Jackson family."

West Ham United would again like to thank everyone who placed a bid in the auction and helped to raise such a substantial sum of money for a worthy cause.
