Young goalkeeper David Blackmore has headed to Conference
South side Lewes FC to gain some senior experience.
The 17-year-old Academy scholar, who joined the Hammers last year after being released by Ipswich Town, will move on a 'work experience' deal that enables him to stay at Lewes for however long the two clubs agree on.
He will make his debut in the FA Trophy against Oxford United tomorrow, and Youth Academy Director Tony Carr believes the experience will stand him in good stead.
"David has progressed very well in the past year," says Tony, "and this is a great chance for him to go out and experience regular senior football at a decent level.
"He will benefit from the physical and mental demands of men's football, and I am sure it will be a worthwhile exercise for him."
