Team News: Alan Pardew has no fresh injury
worries following Saturday's 1-0 win over Manchester City, and
has name an unchanged 20-man squad for the trip to the Riverside
Stadium.
Squad to face Middlesbrough: Hislop, Walker, Bywater, Scaloni,
Konchesky, Gabbidon, Collins, Ward, Benayoun, Newton, Mullins,
Reo-Coker, Fletcher, Etherington, Sheringham, Ashton, Harewood,
Zamora, Katan, Reid.
Middlesbrough, meanwhile, are likely to again rest several of their
key players, as they did for Saturday's 1-0 defeat at
Portsmouth. With a UEFA Cup semi-final first leg against Steaua
Bucharest to come on Thursday, manager Steve McClaren is expected
to name Malcolm Christie and Yakubu in attack, with Brad Jones
continuing to deputise for Mark Schwarzer in goal.
Previous meetings: This is Hammers' first meeting to the Riverside Stadium since December 2002, when an 88th minute goal from Ugo Ehiogu rescued a 2-2 draw and denied the visitors all three points after strikes from Joe Cole and Ian Pearce had put us in the driving seat.
Past record at Middlesbrough:
P24 W5 D6 L13 F24 A46
Stat attack: This is the 50th league meeting
between Middlesbrough and West Ham United.
Should he score today, Teddy Sheringham will become the first player over the age of 40 to score in the Premiership.
