ENGLAND INTERNATIONAL

England international goalkeeper David James has been capped while at both West Ham United and Manchester City. Moving to Upton Park from Aston Villa for £3.5million in July 2001, he made 91 League appearances for the Hammers prior to joining Manchester City for £1.3million in January 2004. England international winger Trevor Sinclair joined West Ham from QPR in a £2.3million exchange deal involving Iain Dowie and Keith Rowland in January 1998, netting 37 goals in 177 Premiership outings before being sold to Manchester City for £2.5million in July 2003.

MANAGING TO SUCCEED
Manchester City manager Stuart Pearce gained the last two of his 78 England caps while at West Ham United. Moving to Upton Park from Newcastle United in August 1999, he was an experienced figure as Hammers reached the FA Cup sixth round in 2000-01 and scored twice in 42 Premiership games prior to joining Manchester City in July 2001. He starred in their 2001-02 First Division title triumph and netted three times in 38 League outings before becoming City's manager in March 2005. Former Hammers defenders Malcolm Allison and John Bond also managed Manchester City.

IRISH INTERNATIONAL

Northern Ireland international midfielder Steve Lomas was capped while at both Manchester City and West Ham United. Signing professional at Maine Road in January 1991, he netted eight goals in 111 League games for Manchester City prior to joining the Hammers for £1,600,000 in March 1997. He featured in the 2003-04 First Division play-off final as well as the 2004-05 promotion campaign, scoring ten times in 187 League outings while at Upton Park before moving to QPR in August 2005. Fellow Northern Ireland international Michael Hughes was also capped while at both clubs.

TWO SPELLS
Former West Ham United midfielder Ian Bishop had two spells at Manchester City. Initially moving to Maine Road from AFC Bournemouth in a £465,000 deal involving Paul Moulden in August 1989, he joined West Ham with Trevor Morley in exchange for Mark Ward in December 1989. He starred in the 1990-91 and 1992-93 promotion successes, netting 12 goals in 254 League outings prior to rejoining Manchester City in March 1998. Featuring in two promotion campaigns, he scored four times in 97 League games overall for City before moving to Miami Fusion in March 2001.

LEADING MARKSMAN
Ex-Manchester City striker David Cross was West Ham's leading marksman in three successive seasons. Moving to Upton Park from West Brom for a then club record £180,000 in December 1977, he was a key figure as West Ham won the FA Cup in 1980. He also starred as the Hammers were Second Division champions and League Cup finalists the following season, scoring 77 goals in 179 League outings prior to joining Manchester City in August 1982. Top scorer in 1982-83, he netted 12 times in 31 First Division outings before moving to Vancouver Whitecaps in April 1983.

EVER-PRESENT
One-time Manchester City midfielder Mark Ward was ever-present as West Ham finished third in the top-flight in 1985-86. Moving to Upton Park from Oldham Athletic for £250,000 in August 1985, the England Semi-Pro international also featured prominently in successive Cup runs and netted 12 goals in 165 League games for West Ham prior to joining Manchester City in an exchange deal involving Ian Bishop in December 1989. Scoring 14 times in 55 First Division outings while at Maine Road, he was sold to Everton for £1,100,000 in August 1991.

TOP SCORER

Former Manchester City striker Trevor Morley was top scorer in West Ham's 1990-91 and 1992-93 promotion campaigns. Moving to Maine Road from Northampton Town for £175,000 in January 1988, he was an influential figure in Manchester City's 1988-89 promotion success and netted 18 goals in 72 League games prior to joining West Ham with Ian Bishop in exchange for Mark Ward in December 1989. He was an FA Cup semi-finalist in 1990-91 and scored 57 times in 178 League outings while at Upton Park before moving to Reading in August 1995.

TITLE TRIUMPH
Former West Ham striker Paulo Wanchope featured in Manchester City's 2001-02 First Division title triumph. Moving to Upton Park from Derby County for £3,250,000 in July 1999, the Costa Rican international netted 12 goals in 35 Premiership games for West Ham before being sold to Manchester City for £3,650,000 in August 2000. He was leading marksman as City battled to avoid relegation in 2000-01, scoring 27 goals in 64 League outings prior to joining Malaga in August 2004. Ex-Hammers midfielder Eyal Berkovic also featured in City's 2001-02 First Division title campaign.

RECORD TRANSFER

Manchester City's former loan midfielder Marc-Vivien Foe was once West Ham's most expensive signing. Moving to Upton Park from Lens for £4,200,000 in January 1999, he scored once in 38 Premiership games for West Ham before being sold to Lyon for £6,000,000 in July 2000. He joined Manchester City in a one-year loan deal in July 2002 and netted nine goals in 35 League outings until his tragic death in June 2003. The likes of Clive Allen, Jimmy Cumming, Justin Fashanu, John Payne, Perry Suckling and Phil Woosnam have also played for both clubs.
