Hayden fired up for high noon showdown

Hayden Mullins insists that Hammers will approach today's trip to Chelsea with confidence and self-belief.

Having returned from a midweek training break in Dubai, Alan Pardew's men head to Stamford Bridge for a high noon showdown with our west London rivals, and Hayden can't wait to test himself in a midfield encounter with the likes of Frank Lampard, Claude Makelele and Michael Essien.

"All the boys are looking forward to it," he says. "Chelsea haven't been getting the results they are used to recently, so they will be hoping to put that right against us and we are up for the challenge.

"We've done well in the London derbies so far this season and, after winning away at Arsenal we know that, on our day, we can give the very best teams a run for their money.

"It's been a busy couple of weeks, a lot of games and a lot of travelling, so it was nice to get away for a little break - a bit of warm weather, the chance to relax and come back feeling fresh ahead of the Chelsea game.

"The lads are all really fired up for the end of the season now, because there is so much to play for. Obviously the cup semi-final is in the back of the mind, but it's important that we stay on track in the Premiership, and it would be a great feeling to get a result against Chelsea on their own patch."
