WEST Ham United Ladies were knocked out of the FA Premier
Women's League Cup after losing 5-2 to AFC Wimbledon at
Kingstonian.
The home side raced into a two-goal lead as Hammers began the game
slowly. But a goal from Carly Roache just before the break sent the
West Ham Ladies in trailing 2-1 at half-time.
The Dons re-established their two-goal advantage making it 3-1 just
after the interval, but still Hammers refused to lay down. Sam
Pittuck was inches wide with an angled drive, before a
long-range effort from Aofie Aherne flew into the Dons net to make
ir 3-2.
Suddenly it was game on again, but as Hammers chased to find
an equaliser they were left exposed and AFC Wimbledon added
another two goals to knock Hammers out of the League Cup.
