ALAN Pardew looks set to make changes to the Hammers starting
line-up for tonight's Carling Cup Third Round clash at Bolton
Wanderers, but the Hammers boss is quick to stress that West Ham
United are determined to progress in the competition.
"I want this Club to win trophies," stated Pards,
"and we will go to Bolton to try and win the game.
"We achieved a very important victory against Middlesbrough at
the weekend and we want to continue the positive momentum with
another good result at Bolton.
"We are carrying a few knocks after the Bolton game, so team
changes will be forced on me.
"But we have got some fresh players who I'll look to bring
in and give them their chance.
"There is competition for places at the Club all over the
pitch and the guys that aren't in the team right now are
determined to take their chance.
"It will be a tough Cup tie at Bolton against a very strong
team. But we will go there determined to come out with a victory
and hopefully we can put in another strong performance."
Pards does have some injury concerns ahead of the game. Anton
Ferdinand is doubtful with a foot injury, while Mark Noble (back)
and Jeremie Aliadiere (hernia) are also struggling. Roy Carroll is
definitely out with a knee injury sustained in training last week.
"We picked up a few knocks against Middlesbrough," said
Alan. "Anton, Paul Konchesky and Matty Etherington were
carrying knocks after the game so there could be a few forced
changes."
