Ladies Lose To Palace

HAMMERS Ladies were disappointed to lose 2-1 to Crystal Palace after taking an early lead.

In a game that West Ham were expected to win they began strongly, some good work by Vicky Bruce set up Nicola Dunsdon to give them an early lead.  Despite some promising play, a bout of complacency set in and the visitors came back into the game. The inevitable Palace goal came and it was one of the highpoints of the game with a spectacular drive to send the teams in level at half-time.

In the second-half Palace sealed all three points with only a few minutes to spare.

Next Sunday the Ladies will be hoping to get back on track as they visit AFC Wimbledon at Kingstonian FC.

WEST HAM UNITED: Clare Lacey, Kate Turney, Carly Roache, Lindsey Morgan, Julia Stetford, Stacey Crump, Nicola Dunsdon, Aoifie Aherne, Kate Fanning, Vicky Bruce, Sam Pittuck. SUBS: Vicky Lewis, Kerry Stimpson.

The Hammers Ladies second string entertained a strong Fulham side in the Reserve League Cup and although they put up a brave display they went out 3-2. Trailing by 1-0 after 20 minutes the Hammers equalised through Hayley Barton. Fulham then took control of the game and went into a 3-1 lead. Hayley Barton got a second but there was no way back for Hammers.
