Ladies Up For The Cups

West Ham United Ladies have been drawn away to Barnet Ladies in the third round of the Women's FA Cup.  This is the first season that the Hammers have been directly seeded to the third round following their promotion to the FA Premier Women's League.

WHULFC secretary John Greenacre said: "This will be a very tough game, Barnet are currently top of the South East Combination (the League that the Hammers won last season to gain promotion) and look like they could be joining us at this level next season.  Last season we did the double over Barnet, winning 2-1 at home and 3-1 away but previous records all go out of the window on the day."

The game is scheduled to be held on Sunday 4th December. Barnet Ladies hold their home games at Hanwell Town FC.

With a break in the fixtures as the Hammers first-team were due to visit Cardiff City but the Bluebirds were involved in the Welsh Cup, it gave the Ladies a unique opportunity.

A combined first and reserve team took on Leyton Orient in the London County Cup. A resounding 3-1 win for the Hammers was the outcome with Hayley Barton hitting a brace and the other goal coming from Vicky Lewis.  The side also included Toni Smith from the Under-16's. The Hammers will now face a trip to the winners of the tie between Hackney Women and Dynamo North London.

Next Sunday the Hammers first-team revert to FA Premier Women's League action against Southampton at Aveley, earlier this season the Hammers beat the Saints 5-1 to gain their first win of the campaign.
